5 key priorities for Adaptation under the Copenhagen Agreement
1. Get the objectives of the framework right.
2. Focus on the most vulnerable people through rights based, participatory and transparent adaptation planning, ensuring healthy ecosystems. This should integrate existing approaches from disaster risk reduction, food security and water resource management.
3. Scaled up, long term, additional financial support, over and above developed countries’ targets to provide 0.7% of their GNI as Official Development Assistance (ODA).
4. Address unavoidable loss and damage from climate impacts.
5. Action on migration and displacement.
