Media Training with One World South Asia (October 10, 11, 2008)

On the coming Friday and Saturday (10th and 11th) of October, One World South Asia is organizing a 2 day workshop for all IYCNers here in Delhi.  It will give us many valuable skills to partner with them and to better communicate the message of climate change through writing and through radio programs.

Here is a tentative agenda:

Day One (Oct. 10th)

9 am-12pm:  writing for the web: clean, crisp, sharp writing
12-1pm:  lunch
1-3pm:  recording training in the office - asking the right questions, getting the best answers
3-5pm: going out in groups of 5 - 10 with one voice recorder each, interviewing — each on a given theme (climate impacts vs. solutions)

Following day (October 11th):
Editing training followed by editing session; each individual selecting a smaller theme (like glacier melt, for example, and editing together a few perspectives from each

In this way we will be helping to prepare a series of mini shows that may be used for a program on climate change on AIR!  We are hoping to be able to submit pieces that any of you who are interested in writing or having your work published regarding development/climate related issues (post this training) on One World South Asia’s portal.  I encourage as many of you as possible to attend.  Please let us know ASAP!
