[...] Declaring the emerging economy of India to be the future of the world, Mr. Gore asked for a greater participation by all Indians in the efforts to combat climate change leading to a safer and more secure tomorrow. He also called for raising global consciousness to a higher level to address several of the so called political challenges being faced in different parts of the world today. Developing the capacity for a vision and building a moral authority, essential to taking action together as a civilization, according to Mr. Gore, is the need of the hour. The presence of the dual climate crusaders - Al Gore and Dr. R.K. Pachauri throughout the training Program left a lasting impression on many including myself. [...]

Great to read about all the nice work..will just get in touch through mail.

Dear Govind,

If I recall correctly, we were on the same table on the second day with facilitator Stephen Mills, Karuna Singh of American Center, Kolkata, Air Marshall Nanda Cariappa and others. One has not had the opportunity to do much work on environment or climate but after finishing school from Mayo College, Ajmer and graduation from St. Xavier's College, Calcutta, I have previously served for 22 years in the corporate business sector and thereafter more than 10 years in the development sector in the field of livelihoods, rural tourism and NGO management. I have worked as a consultant to the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, Udaipur Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Udaipur, Rajasthan from 1999 – 2001 backstopping a rural tourism project and, later, supporting the large rural industries and cluster development programs of the Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI), in Eastern India from 2001 to 2004. Currently I am managing a premier development organization in North India, based in Lucknow.

Best Wishes,

Probir Bose

Dear Mr. Probir Bose,
We did not have the pleasure to meet at the program but am glad you found us here. By posting your useful inputs here, you have already involved yourself towards bringing a change. However, we would like to hear more from you and it would be nice if you can send us details of the good work that you have been doing.

Regards
Govind Singh

I was one of the delegates who had the privilege of being selected for this program and also meeting Mr. Al Gore and Dr. Pachauri. Ever since my return home, I have had the opportunity to see and read “The Inconvenient Truth” which have substantially reinforced the logic behind the reality of global warming and I have resolved to make a sincere effort to spread the message to as many as I can. What I, further, found refreshing about the program was the opportunity to hear and discuss, in so many years, about the mountains, rivers and wildlife rather than the usual, discourses on development or management.

Nature, wildlife and photography has been a personal passion since many years and I am now inspired to devote more and more time to it not merely as a hobby but by intervening to bring about change. Can anyone suggest a way to get involved?
